Background: Marion, a 12-year-old twin, resides with her single mother and seven siblings in the village of Bulyankulege. Two years ago, her father abandoned them after her mother broke her leg, rendering her unable to work.

Challenges: Marion’s family faces financial hardship as they rely on her mother’s small chapatti business to make ends meet. Due to their difficult circumstances, Marion’s education suffers, and she is often in and out of school. Poverty casts a shadow over their lives, leaving Marion’s dreams hanging by a thread.

Dreams: Despite the challenges she faces, Marion aspires to be a hairdresser when she grows up. On a typical day, she can be found helping her mother around the house and caring for her siblings.
