Malaria is a life-threatening disease. It’s typically transmitted through the bite of an infected Anopheles mosquito.
Malaria may cause anemia and jaundice (yellow coloring of the skin and eyes) because of the loss of red blood cells. If not promptly treated, the infection can become severe and may cause kidney failure, seizures, mental confusion, coma, and death.
Malaria infection during pregnancy can have adverse effects on both mother and fetus, including maternal anemia, fetal loss, premature delivery, intrauterine growth retardation, and delivery of low birth-weight infants (<2500 g or <5.5 pounds, a risk factor for death.
So many deaths occur in children in rural areas caused by malaria, the future for many infants and adults is cut short due to this dangerous disease. It’s so painful to see the loss so many lives deep in these villages.
Hope For Every Heart we know very well that there’s nothing you can equate to life, saving lives and giving hope to everyone is our priority. That’s why we are here to shine a light on this evil disease that you may be able to understand its gravity.
