Despite the fact that the world has sufficient of fresh and clean water for domestic use, agriculture, and industry, many people in rural Uganda do not have access to it. The bulk of these people (84 percent) live in rural areas, according to the World Health Organization. They risk their lives by collecting water from sewers, ponds, and lakes. Women and children are disproportionately forced to walk lengthy distances of up to 10 miles one way; some are raped, expectant mothers lose their unborn infants, and many children die young as a result of water-related ailments.
As a result, on any given day, more than half of hospital beds in Uganda’s rural districts are filled with water/hygiene-related ailments such as diarrhea, typhoid, and so on.
In underdeveloped countries like Uganda, 68 percent of the rural population spends more than half of their day collecting water. As a result, they squander valuable time that could be spent on other activities such as education, work, or self-development because they must spend up to four to six hours every day collecting five liters of filthy water.

Gabba Community
BULUNDIRA EAST
This community has a population of over 14,000 people. When we reached there, we found women and men waiting for us in big numbers. But because it’s “Covid-19 period”, we were not allowed to gather. We had to just choose the few people and share with them the love of God. An old woman told us that, this village was named Bulundira because it’s the place for grazing. We moved here but there is no water even a single Borehole.
ONGOJJE WEST
Most of these communities have a big number of members in one household, imagine a family that has about 10 to 20 members, fetching water for them is a big challenge. Most children go to bed without taking a bath because of lack of water; they even miss school just to help their parents get water for domestic use. This community needs a solution from us it’s important to run to their rescue.
NABWANGA
This community has over 12,400 people, their main activity is farming. Here we found women carrying babies on their backs and carrying a 20ltr Jerrican, they narrated to us what they go through just to have a jerrican of clean water. We followed one of them but hey! It was a long distance like 8kms, only going! That means they walk 16kms to go and look for water. We pray for this community to see God’s goodness.
BUKEWA EAST
Bukewa community is highly populated in Namayingo district. Elders told us that they have been surviving with the ponds they dig. When God pours the rain, that water is collected for domestic use. They told us that they suffer a lot when these ponds dry up during the dry seasons. We believe God will do a miracle for this community.
